Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School is proud to have Scouts and Guides Units in the school. We have a rich history of our unit. It is one of the oldest units in the entire North-East India. The Scout Group unit of the school was registered on 15th March 1937 in the District of Khasi and Jaintia Hills under then Assam Provincial Boy Scouts Association and then it came under Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides Association. Over the years we have/had many scouting leaders running the units in our school. Talking of one of our such leader, Shri K.D. Gautam- HWB, Ex. School Scout master under whose leadership our two students had received Rastrapati Puraskar. Beside this several Scouts and Guides have been awarded Rajya Puraskar. Presently Shri. Swaraj Chhetri (Scout Master) and Smt. Sona Sunar (Guide Captain) are incharge of the Scouts and Guide Units.
Our School organises many extra co-curricular activities in Scouting and Guiding like Summer Camps, fete, cleaning drive, hiking and invites other school too in joining these activities. Our students are also taking part in activities organised by Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides and BSG EKH District Association.
The Scouting and Guiding movement in our school aims at developing the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development of our school students so that they become responsible citizen and play constructive role in the society.
